School Services
All schools have reopened under Alert Level 2, and all Ministry of Education contracted transport services have resumed their normal schedule.
Guidelines from the Ministry of Transport acknowledged that maintaining distancing is not practicable on school buses so there are steps being taken to offer an appropriate level of protection to drivers and students under Alert Level 2.
-
Any seats in close proximity to the driver are not being used.
-
Hand sanitiser is available for both drivers and students on every Ministry service
-
Strict cleaning regimes are being maintained, with buses and vans being cleaned twice daily.
-
Schools and School services are required to maintain up-to-date bus lists of all students travelling. The Ministry of Health will be contacting schools in the event contact tracing is needed.
Urban Services
Under Alert Level 2, urban services have returned to normal timetables.
Social distancing requirements on Urban Services at Level 2 are as follows.
-
2-metre social distancing is recommended while waiting for services (bus stops etc) reducing to 1-metre while onboard
-
Front door boarding and rear door exit are operating.
-
Seats in close proximity to the driver are not being used.
-
Window seats on each row are now able to be used
-
People who know each other may sit next to each other
-
No standing passengers permitted.
Councils Services have key messaging at bus stops and on buses outlining social distancing and seating arrangements to be adhered to by passengers. Services continue to operate “Fare-Free” at this time to enable contactless travel.
Our Bubbles
Although we now have the opportunity to leave our bubbles and reconnect with family and friends, we still need to take precautions and play it safe through this time.
-
We will still need to keep our distance with 2-metre social distancing recommended in public areas and 1-metre distancing in retail outlets and group gatherings.
-
Hand washing and sanitising are still extremely important!
-
If you or anyone in your bubble shows any cold or flu-like symptoms please stay at home and call HealthLine or you GP.
