Alert Level 2 Update
On Wednesday, August 26 Government announced that NZ would maintain its current lockdown settings until Sunday, August 30 when it will be decided whether there will be any further change to our Alert status nationwide. At Alert Level 2 the following requirements will apply from Monday, August 31.

How this Affects School Services
- Students using school transport services are exempt from wearing face masks but may do so if they wish.
- All drivers are required to wear face masks unless unable to due to a medical or other condition.
- School transport vehicles are not required to display QR code posters as they are considered controlled environments with reliable contact tracing systems in place.
- Hand sanitiser will remain available for drivers and passengers
- All touchpoints on vehicles will continue to be cleaned twice daily.
How this Affects Urban Services

- Face coverings will be mandatory for drivers and passengers on all public transport services from Monday 31st August. This includes school students travelling on urban buses.
- Students travelling on dedicated Urban School Services are not required to wear face coverings.
- The wearing of face coverings will not alter the need for social distancing and loading restrictions will remain in place
- Public Health Officials have advised that children under the age of 6 should not wear face coverings.
- Children under 12 years of age are not required to wear face masks on public transport at Alert Level 2.
- Children age 12 and over are required to wear face coverings at Alert Level 2
- All Urban buses will display QR codes from next Thursday. This will support speedy and accurate contact tracing.
- All touchpoints on vehicles will continue to be cleaned twice daily.
